Skateboard To Work
I just got this electric skateboard yesterday, charged it overnight and at 6am I am trying it out. The specs on it are:
- 0-20 mph in 4 seconds
- 12-15 mile range
- 42 inches long
- electric
- silent motor, all you hear is the gravel rolling away
It will make a great commuter vehicle. Top speed requires concentration, but moderate speed is pretty easy to maintain. If you fall off the handle disconnects, so the board will stay with you. My turns are very wide at the moment. Right angles on streets are easy, but sidewalk or bikepath right angles I haven't mastered yet. Loads of fun and no gas required. Here are several more photos.
Very cool. Do you have to be a skateboard expert to use it? Is it easy to control if you run into traffic?

It depends on far your commute to work is. I don't think you'd get far on the highway. Otherwise it looks great for suburban travel.
